MANILA -- Shane Reterta is embracing her bigger role with De La Salle University in the UAAP Season 88 women's volleyball tournament.
Reterta made her presence felt for the Lady Spikers in their game against University of Santo Tomas on Wednesday, scoring a service ace during the team's run in the third set.

La Salle went on to beat UST to clinch its ninth straight win, 25-12, 18-25, 25-23, 25-14 at the Araneta Coliseum, with Reterta contributing 10 points on eight attacks and two service aces.
"Siguro po nakikita po namin na gusto nila manalo, siguro mas eager po ako and yung team na habulin at maunahan sila. Kasi hindi pa naman tapos yung game, hangga't hindi pa 25 yung points," she said during the post-game press conference.
Compared to the previous season, Reterte admits she has to step up for DLSU especially since they have a lot of younger players.
"Yung character ko ngayon mas tumibay since ako na yung naglalaro sa loob ng court. And isa na ako sa kailangan tumulong sa team. And kailangan ko tulungan yung mga rookies ma-up din yung laro nila, tulad ni Ella [De Guzman] na ka-position ko po," Reterta said.
"Siyempre bata po, may mga time talaga na nawawalan ng kumpiyansa. So inu-up talaga namin," she added.
With the victory over the Golden Tigresses, the Lady Spikers moved up to a 9-0 record.
DLSU looks to extend its winning streak when they face the UP Fighting Maroons at the UST Quadricentennial Pavilion on Sunday.
