The Galeries Tower Highrisers. PVL Media BureauMANILA — Galeries Tower just scored a massive upset in the 2026 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference.
The Highrisers caught a big fish in Nxled, taking down the erstwhile unbeaten Brooke Van Sickle-captained squad in four frames, 25-19, 17-25, 25-20, 25-21, on Thursday evening at the Filoil Centre in San Juan.
This marked the biggest victory in the preliminary round by any team so far, dealing the home of core members of defending champion Petro Gazz its first loss of the 2026 season.

Just when Van Sickle was threatening Galeries' lead in Set 4, scoring two straight attacks, Roselle Baliton came up with a huge block on Van Sickle, giving her team a breather, 22-20.
Erika Raagas put Galeries on match point with a down-the-line hit, but Lycha Ebon committed an attack error that kept Nxled in the hunt, 24-21.
Thankfully for the Highrisers, Raagas was there for the winner, firing the attack that sealed the win.
Baliton led the charge with 16 points on seven attacks, seven blocks, and two aces.
