MANILA — Jia de Guzman is navigating a more competitive Premier Volleyball League (PVL) field amid her reintegration into Creamline's current system.

De Guzman is making a return to the PVL and Creamline, almost three years after leaving for Japan's Denso Airybees. She last played locally in the 2023 First All-Filipino Conference.

"With all of the teams stepping up, with a new Creamline team coming together, parang I'm also trying to find my way with the team," said De Guzman on Wednesday during the 2026 All-Filipino Conference press launch in Ortigas.

Despite trying to settle herself in the Cool Smashers nest, the eight-time Best Setter and Alas Pilipinas' premier playmaker said she's just ready to support the team, whatever is needed from her.

De Guzman also hopes to bring her wealth of international experience into the league and her squad.

"Hopefully, 'yung mga natutunan din namin sa international madala ko rin sa PVL and sa Creamline, but at the same time, whatever the team needs from me, I will be ready to support and do my best to deliver."

Embracing the challenge of a whole different field from almost three years ago, De Guzman was just excited to compete and be against retooled teams.

"Actually, magti-three years na akong wala sa PVL, but it doesn't mean I wasn't watching when the other teams were evolving also. So very excited talaga ako to see how much PVL has changed, and I would really love to embrace the challenge, so excited kami lahat maglaro," said De Guzman.
