MANILA – Akari captain and setter Mich Cobb is retiring from playing professional volleyball, marking the end of an important era in her life.
Cobb, a product of De La Salle University and coach Ramil de Jesus, announced the development in a heartfelt Instagram post on Wednesday night.
"After years of love and dedication to the game, I’ve decided to close this chapter. I’m retiring with a grateful heart, proud of everything this journey has given me," said Cobb.

Cobb debuted in the Premier Volleyball with the Akari Chargers in 2022. She was also a champion in the UAAP, having won two titles with the Lady Spikers in Seasons 79 and 80.
The setter thanked the people important to her journey in the sport.
"To everyone who’s been part of this journey, thank you for being family. Love you all sm. Maraming salamat po," she said.
Cobb is not entirely stepping away from the sport as she takes on the role of assistant team manager and setting coach.
“As I step away from the game, I carry the strength, love, and determination it gave me. This isn’t the end — just a new chapter, written with the same heart that played every point,” she concluded her post.
Cobb concluded her Akari captaincy with back-to-back podium finishes in 2024 PVL Reinforced Conference and 2024-25 All-Filipino Conference.
