MANILA – Prized PVL draft applicant Bella Belen is widely-regarded as the top choice among the aspirants in the upcoming 2025 Rookie Draft.
Belen, as confirmed by the league, submitted her documents for the league exercise, scheduled for June 8 at the Novotel Manila Araneta City.
The three-time UAAP Most Valuable Player, however, still has a choice to whether withdraw her name from the exercise or not.
Capital1 team owner Milka Romero admitted that Belen is in their shortlist, but expressed desire on checking the wide range of choices for the top pick as they seek to boost their franchise's performance in the professional league.
The Solar Spikers landed first following the conclusion of the lottery on Monday at the TV5 Media Center. Their team was drawn first by former PVL MVP Michele Gumabao.
"Of course, nasa shortlist siya," said Romero regarding Belen.

"We’re looking between iilang players that we want for that first draft pick. We still have a combine. We don’t want also to bring our hopes up. We want to see everyone in the technical, statistical and performance point of view on who will be that first pick for Capital1," added Romero.
Romero hopes this welcome development gives momentum on the franchise that was founded only in 2024.
"Marami talagang mapagpipilian in this draft and it’s very exciting to watch kasi we’re spoiled for choice. Sana tuloy-tuloy this momentum for our franchise, as well, not just for the first pick but also in this whole new season in the PVL," she said.
With this, there is a chance that Belen will be guided by none other than legendary coach Roger Gorayeb in the professional ranks.
