MANILA, Philippines – Leo Aringo remained a steady presence in National University's completion of a historic five-peat in UAAP men's volleyball tournament.
Aringo led the charge in foiling Far Eastern University's hopes of tearing down NU's dynasty, tallying nine points on seven attacks and two aces to go with 10 receptions and four digs in the Bulldogs' straight-set 25-16, 26-26, 25-23 victory on Saturday at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
It was also the Davao City who punched the championship-clinching attack to win the title for the Bulldogs.
For this, he was hailed Finals MVP.

Aringo reflected on the NU's continued dominance in UAAP men's volleyball.
"Sobrang fulfilling, kasi ever since na nag-NU ako, saksi ako sa paghihirap ng NU, paano nila i-grind 'yung sarili para makuha 'yung every championship na nakuha nila Coach Dante," said Aringo during the championship press conference.
"Sobrang sarap sa feeling na hindi namin nasayangan yung ganung pagkakataon, lalo na tong 5-peat champion," he added.
"Hindi namin nasayangan. Nakuha din namin."

Aringo's future is still wide open, as he awaits coach Dante Alinsunurin's call on his next chapter.
"Actually si Leo, hindi pa naman siya graduating talaga, meron pa siya [playing year], pero may ano lang siyang option, meron kaming nakita na mas mabuti sa kanya," said Alinsunurin.
"Sabi ko nga, eto naman yung gusto naming mangyari talaga sa bawat player na mapunta sa mga international kaya doon siya papunta. Sabi ko nga sa kanya na mas okay na doon kasi alam ko na magkaka-career siya," the multi-titled coach added.
