MANILA — After Petro Gazz's triumphant campaign in the 2025 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Reinforced Conference, Lindsey Vander Weide became the first import to become a two-time league champion.

Vander Weide won it the first time around in the 2022 Reinforced Conference, and was tapped to run it back this year. The Angels got the job done on Sunday night, scoring a four-set triumph over Zus Coffee in the one-game final.

The experience was certainly "awesome" for the former PVL Best Import, as she coined it—and her teammates made it more precious.

"Twice is always a little nicer, for sure. Just the fact that I got to do with Petro Gazz again is awesome, and just so many of the same girls is awesome. This team has so much grit and it really just shows itself as the best," said the 28-year-old American spiker.

She dropped 23 points to lead all scorers, but they had to buck a Set 1 loss.

Still, they eventually found their groove to secure the four-set win.

"Honestly, it was just us cleaning it up on our side. They [Zus Coffee Thunderbelles] were playing a good game, but we were kind of giving it to them with our errors," she said.

"And then in the second set, we kind of started again a little rocky, cleaned it up in the end. And I think in the end, it's a game of errors. Which team makes less errors, which team scores more points. So we cleaned it up and put the pressure on them and it just turned it around," she added.

If the door opens for another Petro Gazz campaign, Vander Weide would pounce on it.

"I mean, who knows? If I'm coming back, I'd love to be with this team. I definitely would be interested in another Reinforced Conference. Why not a 3-peat, you know?"
