MANILA — Myla Pablo's vintage form proved to be the difference in Petro Gazz's toppling of defending champion Creamline in the 2025 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Reinforced Conference quarterfinals on Monday at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
Pablo unleashed a match-high 26 points, stepping up as the Angels bucked the absence of reinforcement Lindsey Vander Weide in Sets 1 to 3 after suffering an ankle sprain as she stepped on Ranya Musa's foot early in the first chapter.
She, however, deflected credit, saying it was the team that performed well, and that she was just ready whenever she got called up.

"‘Yung effort naman ng bawat isa, gumana naman nung game," she said. "Always ready naman po kaming lahat, kahit mga second six lang kami. Pero siyempre, kapag pinasok kami ng mga coaches namin, kailangan mag-perform kami, and also hindi naman kami nag-iisa eh."
For the 5-foot-10 spiker, this game was for their import, who managed to return in Set 4 to complete the 25-23, 25-19, 16-25, 25-14 victory and secure a semifinals spot.
"Siyempre, nagulat din sa nangyari kay Lindsey, pero nung pumasok ako kumbaga walang pressure din sa loob ng court. Kasi kapag may pressure ka, medyo hindi mo maiilabas ‘yung laro mo eh, kaya sinabi ko: 'for Lindsey talaga ‘tong game na ‘to,'" Pablo expressed.
"Kumbaga ‘yung team effort namin kanina is gumana rin talaga, especially sa mga coaches namin ‘yung adjusments din namin in the fourth set nga na ginawang opposite si Lindsey. Malaking bagay talaga sa 'min si Lindsey sa loob ng court kasi siyempre ‘yung presence pa lang niya sa loob ng court nakaka-boost ng team namin."
Pablo and Petro Gazz will battle Akari for a berth in the championship round.
