MANILA, Philippines – Zus Coffee's campaign in the 2024-25 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference finally saw some daylight.

The Thunderbelles snapped their three-game skid by fending off Capital1 in straight sets, 31-29, 25-15, 25-15, on Saturday at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.

The Jerry Yee-mentored squad notched its third win in the process, while their counterparts absorbed their sixth defeat in seven games.

The opener went the extra mile, as both teams refused to concede Set 1 after multiple long rallies. The Solar Spikers saved multiple set points, but the Thunderbelles finally emerged on top after Trisha Genesis botched a service and Thea Gagate found the hole in the defense for a 1-0 set lead.

Notably, the Thunderbelles got the better of their rivals' errors that frame, scoring 10 from those.

The Roger Gorayeb-coached pack seemed to have lost all steam in the next two sets, failing to put up a challenge as Thunderbelles found their groove to victory — led by the offensive showings of Chinnie Arroyo, Chai Troncoso, and Mich Gamit.

Arroyo dropped 15 points on 13 attacks, one block and a service ace, while Troncoso and Gamit followed through with 12 markers each.

Gagate also contributed eight points, including two blocks.

Skipper Jorelle Singh led the skidding Capital1 side with a double-digit scoring of 10 points.
