MANILA -- Filipina tennis star Alex Eala has left Manila after a whirlwind week that gave Filipino fans a rare opportunity to see the country's ace up close.
Eala appeared in several brand events last week after her historic campaign in Wimbledon, and is now off for the tour's hardcourt swing.
'Only getting started': Eala continues pursuit of greatness
Now ranked 29th in the world by the WTA, Eala is turning her full attention to the final stretch of the season leading up to the US Open which is the last Grand Slam of the year.
Her first stop is Washington DC, where she is set to compete at the star-studded Mubadala DC Open from July 27 to August 2.
She will also team up again with Venus Williams in the doubles draw after the two first partnered at the Bad Homburg Open in Germany during this grass court season.
