The Philippine women's national football team could not bounce back in the AFC Women's Asian Cup.

The Filipinas took another loss in the continental tournament, absorbing a 0-3 defeat against South Korea on Thursday at the Robina Stadium in Gold Coast, Australia.

"Unfortunately that's all you need, one or two lapse of judgment here and there. And they break down a whole block," Angie Beard said, reflecting on the loss.

The Koreans were already ahead 2-0 by halftime, thanks to their quick passing to breach the Philippines' line of defense.

Jeon Yugyeong scored first at the 12th minute, followed by Park Soojeong's goal three minutes later, finding the top corner of the net by beating goalkeeper Olivia McDaniel.

By the 45th minute, Philippines' Carleigh Frilles had a chance from a distance, just outside the box, but was saved by their rival.

Korea's Mun Eunju then found another goal for their side at the 56th-minute mark, establishing control over their Southeast Asian opponents.

Next up for Filipinas is Iran on Sunday, March 8, at the same venue, entering a dire situation in the competition where a World Cup qualification is at stake.

"We'll pick it up and we'll pull it together again. We're in a tough group... I believe in this group that we can get a [good] result," Beard said.
