MANILA -- Alex Eala will team up with a fellow rising star in the WTA Tour in the doubles tournament of the ASB Classic, where they will be up against a formidable tandem.
Eala will play with American teen sensation Iva Jovic, currently ranked No. 35 in WTA singles and No. 217 in doubles.
They will go against the experienced duo of former world No. 1 Venus Williams and former world No. 3 Elina Svitolina, who is ranked No. 14 in singles and No. 148 in doubles in the WTA standings.
Jovic, 18, previously reached a career-high of No. 33 in the singles and No. 183 in doubles.
She was only 17 years old when she captured her first WTA Tour title at the 2025 Guadalajara Open Akron, becoming the youngest champion of the season to date. Jovic was also a decorated junior doubles player, having won the girls' doubles titles at the Australian Open and Wimbledon.
The 45-year-old Williams is one of the most decorated players in tennis history, with seven Grand Slam titles including five Wimbledon crowns. In doubles, she has amassed 14 Grand Slam titles.
