The Philippine Men’s Davis Cup Team. Photo from Dyan Castillejo, ABS-CBN News.MANILA — The Philippine Men’s Davis Cup Team is set to make some waves in the Davis Cup Asia/Oceania Group IV in Kuala Lumpur.
The National squad, which arrived in Malaysia early Monday morning, is set to go up against Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Pacific Oceania, Qatar, Iraq, and Nepal, with two countries moving up to Group III.
AJ Lim, Jed Olivarez, Niño Alcantara, Ruben Gonzales, and Iggy Pantino, and coaches Joseph Lizardo and Johnny Arcilla are set to banner the country’s colors in the tourney which draw will be held on Tuesday.
There will be two pools of four teams. The top team in each pool will play a promotion play-off against the nation finishing second in the other pool.
The nations finishing in third place in each pool will play a relegation play-off against the nation finishing fourth in the other pool.
