Yulo, also the current Olympic champion in the said apparatus, recorded 14.600 points in the final, edging out Milad Karimi of Kazakhstan who tallied 14.400 points for the silver, while home bet Moon Geonyoung clinched the bronze medal after a 14.033-point performance.

The country's first-ever double gold medalist in the Olympics has a chance for another gold medal when he participates in the rings apparatus later in the day.
