Chinese Taipei's Saki Matsunaga capitalized on a fumble by Sara Eggesvik, scoring a goal on a short clearance enough for a 1-0 triumph against the home team.

For the Filipinas, it was their first loss after sweeping their friendlies against United Arab Emirates last April.

They played without Sarina Bolden and Quinley Quezada, who are recovering from injuries.

The Philippines previously won against Chinese Taipei, 4-1, when they met in the second round of the AFC Olympic Qualifiers back in October 2023.

The Filipinas are in a middle of a training camp for a series of competitions for the latter part of the year, ramping up preparations including the AFC Women's Asian Cup 2026 qualifiers later this month.
