MANILA, Philippines – In celebration of Philippine Independence Day, runners took part in a fun run that honored the national holiday, exploring the historic area of Intramuros in Manila on Thursday, June 12.

Hosted by footwear brand ANTA, the special community run dubbed as "Freedom 5K" was joined by local runners who traversed around the walls and the scenic places nearby.

The activity started at around 6 a.m.

During the fun run, runners were carefully guided by pace leaders and were advised to do a run-walk-run interval, keeping the runners' pace the same.

Participants also met another group doing an Independence Day run, greeting each other in what could be seen as a symbolic celebration of Philippine freedom.
