MANILA — Riding high on her career-best ranking, Alex Eala will return to the court as the top seed at the Oeiras Ladies Open in Portugal on Monday.
The 19-year-old Eala is slated to face Anouk Koevermans of the Netherlands ranked 182 by the WTA in the Main Draw Round of 32.
As the top seed in Oeiras, expectations are high for Eala who turned pro in 2020 and has climbed to no. 73 at the WTA rankings.

At the Miami Open in late March, Eala beat three Grand Slam winners in Jelena Ostapenko, Madison Keys and world number two Iga Swiatek.
