MANILA -- Filipina tennis sensation Alex Eala has leapt from No. 140 to 75 — her career-best — in the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) live rankings as of March 27, Thursday.
She is set to be the first Filipina to enter the WTA Top 100 rankings.
This was after she took down three Grand Slam champions in the Miami Open, the latest victim being the current World No. 2 Iga Swiatek, who was former top-ranked women's tennis player and winner of five Grand Slam titles.
She toppled the Polish star Thursday early morning, 6-2, 7-5, to reach the semifinals of the Florida tiff.

Eala also brought down No. 5 Madison Keys, who is the reigning Australian Open champion, and No. 25 Jelena Ostapenko, who ruled the 2017 French Open.
More than this, Eala is also set to snag her biggest prize purse yet after reaching the semis of the Miami Open, securing $332,160 or over P19 million.
But it won't end there if she beats Jessica Pegula of the United States in their semis match on Friday.

Eala can earn up to $597,890, or over P34 million if she reaches the championship round of the Miami Open.
