Filipino tennis player Alex Eala made history after defeating World No. 2 Iga Swiatek during their quarterfinal match at the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) Miami Open on March 26, 2025.
According to Eala, she definitely feels amazing about the historic achievement.
"This is an achievement I dedicate to my country, but it is also a huge personal milestone," she said.
However, for her, this is not the end goal—she knows she has to keep working hard as she prepares to face strong competitors in the semifinal round.
