MANILA -- Filipina tennis star Alex Eala is off to a strong start in her campaign in the Canberra International.
She dominated Austria’s Sinja Kraus 6-2, 6-4, in her first assignment in the main draw.
Kraus is ranked No. 211 by the WTA, while Eala recently moved up to No. 147.
In the second round, Eala will play the winner of the match between Arianne Hartono of the Netherlands and Anna Bondar of Hungary.
