PBA Images.MANILA — George King and CJ Perez proved too much as San Miguel Beer throttled the Converge FiberXers, 128-122, for its third straight win in the PBA Season 50 Governors' Cup on Wednesday at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.
King erupted for 41 points, while Perez added 31 as the Beermen remained unbeaten in Group A, while handing Converge its first loss of the conference after its own three-game win streak.
“I was just lucky kasi pumapasok yung mga tira ko,” said Perez, who also knocked down four three-pointers and one four-point shot to go along with four rebounds and two assists.
Marcio Lassiter also caught fire with 18 points on three three-pointers, while Don Trollano and June Mar Fajardo chipped in 11 and 10 points, respectively, for the Beermen, who led by as many as 17 after their strong third-quarter surge.
Justin Arana, meanwhile, continued his impressive play with 29 points and five rebounds, while Justine Baltazar backed him up with 16 points and 12 rebounds.
However, it was not enough as the FiberXers could not withstand San Miguel's firepower, which saw Perez help stretch the Beermen's four-point lead to 11, 102-91, by sparking a 10-to-3 run to end the third canto.
