MANILA -- Clint Chapman led the way as Magnolia racked up back-to-back wins, taking down Terrafirma 85-70 on Tuesday at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
The Hotshots remain unbeaten in the PBA Season 50 Commissioner's Cup with Chapman as their import, as the American delivered a 28-point, 11-rebound double-double.
Magnolia trailed 42-40 at the half but completely outplayed the Dyip in the second half, where they limited their opponents to only 28 points.
Chapman and Zavier Lucero combined for 18 points in the fourth quarter to spark Magnolia's breakaway. They led by as many as 17 points, 83-66, off two Lucero free throws with under 90 seconds to go.
The result hiked Magnolia's record to 2-3.
Meanwhile, Terrafirma dropped to 3-2, with the Dyip now having lost back-to-back games after opening their campaign with three straight wins.
Jerrick Ahanmisi, fresh off a stint with Gilas Pilipinas in the FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup, had 21 points but Mubashar Ali labored to an 18-point night, while also grabbing 18 rebounds.
