MANILA -- Schonny Winston has been putting up impressive performances in his first conference with the NLEX Road Warriors.
Winston was the most consistent performer for his team in the previous week, averaging 21.7 points and 3.3 rebounds on his way to winning PBA Press Corps Player of the Week honors for the period of April 14-19.
The Road Warriors won two of their three games in the period, including a 106-97 win over Macau on April 14 wherein Winston put up 24 points and three rebounds.
LJay Gonzales was the hero for NLEX when they escaped with an overtime win against Meralco, 104-101, though Winston also stepped up with 21 points and five rebounds.
The former La Salle standout capped the week with a 20-point outing against San Miguel, a 98-94 loss for the Road Warriors.
Even with the defeat, NLEX remains among the leaders, being at second place with a 6-2 win-loss record.
