MANILA -- Barangay Ginebra's Justin Brownlee believes the future is bright for his son, following the buzz on social media.
Justin Brownlee Jr. is seeing action in the Philippines as part of the Fil-Am Nation Select Los Angeles-Devance team in the Manila Live Tournament of the National Basketball Training Center.
When asked about his son's basketball career, the six-time PBA champion was definitely a proud father who likes what he's seeing so far.
"It's great to see. You know a lot of people are coming up to me and they say they see the highlights and stuff online. You know for me, it's great to see the noise he's kinda getting around his game," Brownlee told reporters on Friday at the Araneta Coliseum.
"He's getting the experience being overseas, being here in the Philippines. It's something that he probably don't know, it's some of the best times of his childhood. You know a lot of people don't get that opportunity. So it's a blessing to see. So for him, I just hope he keeps taking advantage of it and gain all the knowledge he can and experiences," he added.

Brownlee likewise acknowledged the hype around his son possibly suiting up as an import for Ginebra in the future, similar to what he's doing now.
"It'd be great man. You know his dreams just like a lot of young kids that play basketball, he wanna make it to the NBA. But just like me, if it doesn't work out that would be another dream come true for myself and maybe him too," he said.
"Maybe. Let's see how his career will go. We'll see," Brownlee shared.
While his son has a lot of basketball to play in his young career, the three-time PBA Best Import said Brownlee Jr. has already shown a lot of promise at 14 years old.
"I hope so I think right now, to be honest when I was his age, I think physically he's more advanced than I was at his age," Brownlee said.
"I was dunking at 14 [years old] but I wasn't doing some of the dunks he could do. He's a little bit bigger than me at his age. So physically I think he will [be better than me]," he explained.
Brownlee Jr. and the Fil-Am Nation Select squad will compete in the 14U Boys finals against Blue Steel Basketball at the Mall of Asia Arena on Sunday at 8 a.m.
