MANILA, Philippines – It was a historic night for UAAP on Sunday as the league tallied a record-best gate attendance at the Araneta Coliseum for basketball during Game 3 of the Season 87 men's hoops Finals.
A total of 25,248 fans filled the Metro Manila stadium to witness high octane action between the men's basketball teams of University of the Philippines and De La Salle University.
The previous record was 25,192 — set during the deciding game between UP and La Salle in the Season 86 Finals Game 3.
As the championship series reached its conclusion, it was the Fighting Maroons who emerged with the triumph against the Green Archers, 66-62, to return the men's hoops crown in Diliman.
