Alex Eala and Nicola Bartunkova displayed good chemistry during their Wimbledown doubles match but were overpowered by 8th Seed Jelena Ostapenko and Sofia Kenin.
Eala and Bartunkova started on fire to get an early break and lead 3-0 during the frst set. They played solid on the return and took advantage of every open court to score winners from the net, raciing to a 5-2 lead making the crucial points.
The 8th seed opponents closed in at 5-3 but Eala and Bartunkova denied them from taking it any further, taking the first set 6-3.
Points were close with quick exchanges in the 2nd Set.
Eala Bartunkova got the first break and led 2-1 but Ostapenko and Kenin came right back with a break and level at 2-2.
They won a battle in the 5th game to lead 3-2.
The American and Latvian broke through another close game and widened the lead to 5-2.
Eala battled for another point, 5-3, but the 8th seed opponents closed it out 6-3.
In the 3rd set, Kenin and Ostapenko picked up their game and raced to a 3-0 lead. .
Eala and Bartunkova fought hard and broke to close the gap to 3-1 but Ostapenko and Kenin kept the momentum and took it home to win 3-6;6-3;6-1.
