MANILA -- If you know two-time Olympic medalist Nesthy Petecio, 'mapapa-Eyyy ka muna' just like her.
The Filipina boxer has taken the internet by storm whenever she does her signature pose, which is the latest trending expression.
In the Philippines, you say "Eyyy" while holding out your fingers in a "Y" sign and shaking your hand. It gained popularity again in the country recently because of BINI member Sheena Catacutan.
In other parts of the world, it's called the "shaka" or "hang loose" gesture, tracing its roots from Hawaii.

But for sports fans and Filipinos who watched the Paris Olympics, it has been attributed to the 32-year-old boxer.
Petecio did the pose after her bouts at the Summer Games, during interviews and when she posed with fellow athletes even from other countries.
When she returned home, the boxer proudly did her trademark pose when she greeted supporters during the heroes' grand homecoming parade in Manila.
Petecio took it a notch further and even asked President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and other officials to do the pose in her visit to Malacañang.
She also does the pose whenever she says hi to fans or whenever she feels like it.
The 32-year-old, who is often seen laughing and joking around, said she learned it from her brother Norlan.

"Ano lang talaga sa kalokohan din. Yung kapatid kong si Norlan may pinakita siyang vlogger na ginagaya din na BINI na nag-eyyy talaga. So okay yun. Yun lang ginawa ko. Di ko naman sa ano, di naman siya accidentally. Natuwa ako eh so ginamit ko na sa taas ng ring," she told ABS-CBN News on the sidelines of an event with a sports apparel brand.
Petecio adds that the pose for her can be interpreted as a symbol of good vibes and spreading joy to others.
The two-time Olympic medalist did not expect for the pose to be well-received and to even go viral among Filipinos.
When asked what her next trending pose would be, Petecio said she would have to think about it first.
For now, the boxer is happy to spread good vibes by telling people na mag-Eyyy muna.
