The president of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) issued his first public remarks on March 6, 2026, amid the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan delivered a message of resilience and defiance, speaking during a hospital visit to civilians injured in recent events.
Sheikh Mohamed reassured the public that "all is well in the UAE" and emphasized the nation's unity in facing challenges.
He also praised the armed forces and security institutions for their "outstanding service during this war" and lauded Emiratis and residents alike for standing together.
However, Sheikh Mohamed issued a warning to the country's adversaries.
“The UAE is attractive; the UAE is beautiful. The UAE is a model. But I say to them: Do not be misled by the UAE’s appearance. The UAE has thick skin and bitter flesh – we are no easy prey,” he said.
He vowed that the country will continue to protect its people and residents, describing them as part of the UAE’s extended family. “We will carry out our duty towards our country, our people, and our residents who are also part of our family,” he said.
The President promised that the UAE will emerge stronger despite the ongoing war. “I promise everyone that we will emerge stronger than before. Without doubt,” he stressed.
The tension in the Middle East began last February 28 when the US and "its partner forces" began airstrikes against Iran.
On the same day, Iran launched ballistic missiles in retaliation toward Israel and several areas in the Middle East, including the UAE.
