Police departments in the United States were on heightened alert on following an announcement by President Donald Trump that U.S. forces had struck Iran’s three main nuclear sites.
Los Angeles mayor Karen Bass said that while no credible threats were detected, authorities would continue to monitor and step up patrols at places of worship, community spaces and other cultural and sensitive sites.
The New York City and Washington D.C. police departments both posted similar messages on their X accounts.

Iran reserves all options to defend itself after the U.S. strikes on its nuclear facilities, Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said on X, saying the attacks were "outrageous and will have everlasting consequences".
