Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on Friday (March 14) Ukraine has accepted a U.S. proposal of "unconditional silence," marking a movement towards the end of the war.
"Now on the table is the American proposal of unconditional silence in the sky, at sea and on the front. Ukraine accepts this proposal," said Zelenskiy in his nightly video address.
Ukraine accepted a U.S. proposal for a 30-day interim ceasefire, which Moscow said it would only agree to if certain conditions were met.
Zelenskiy said he and French President Macron had discussed the "state of diplomacy, the possibilities that exist and the...technical aspects of overseeing a ceasefire".
Zelenskiy said that in all these matters, "we have clear support from France". - report from Reuters
