MANILA -- Rufa Mae Quinto’s camp asserted that the actress and comedienne is a victim of false accusations, following her voluntary surrender to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Wednesday.
Atty. Mary Louise Reyes, Quinto's legal counsel, disclosed that the skincare company in question still owes her payment for endorsing their products.
“My client is a victim kasi nga siya rin po mismo, hindi siya nabayaran pa which is aasikasuhin ko rin after this case. Focus muna kami, one step at a time,” Reyes said.

Quinto was charged with 14 counts of violation of Section 8 of the Securities Regulation Code in relation to the cases filed by investors against skin care company Dermacare.
Based on the report, all cases are bailable at ₱126,000 each, amounting to a total of ₱1.7 million.
Earlier, Quinto and her lawyers went to Pasay Regional Trial Court branch 111 to process the said bail.
“Unfortunately kasi nasaraduhan na kami. So first thing tomorrow morning, matatapos namin 'yan,” Reyes said.
Quinto was brought back to the NBI this afternoon for a medical check-up after experiencing a headache.
“Sumama ‘yung pakiramdam niya. This morning, panay siya suka. Siguro I don’t know if it’s jet lag, or syempre kahit alam mong inosente ka, pagdadaanan mo ‘yung ganitong sitwasyon,” Reyes said.
The arraignment and pre-trial hearing for the very urgent motion for reinvestigation filed by their camp is set for Thursday, January 9.
