MANILA — Globe is offering free roaming services for Filipinos in conflict-affected areas in the Middle East.
To avail of the free roaming services, customers must connect with the following roaming partners:
- ā Saudi Arabia - connect via roaming partners such as STC and Zain
- ā United Arab Emirates - connect via Du and e& (Etisalat)
- ā Bahrain - connect via Batelco and Zain Bahrain
- ā Qatar - connect via Ooredoo and Vodafone
- ā Kuwait - connect via Ooredoo Kuwait, and stc Kuwait
The free roaming package includes 1GB of all-access data, 15 minutes of calls, and 15 SMS credits valid for seven days. It is available to Globe Prepaid, TM, and Postpaid customers with no registration required.
For customers in Iran, meanwhile, Globe is offering load support or bill adjustments to help offset connectivity costs. Assistance will be given through account credit adjustments tied to usage patterns while connected to roaming partners like MTN Irancell.
PLDT, meanwhile is offering free calls to the Philippines for Pinoys in Iran, Israel, Iraq, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, the UAE and Saudi Arabia through the TinBo app (via Smart Virtual Number).
PLDT, Smart, and TNT subscribers in the Philippines will also be able to call their loved ones in those same countries for free until March 7. PLDT Chair Manuel Pangilinan said the company will monitor for a possible extension on this service.
Pangilinan also said overseas Filipinos can call the Smart crisis hotline at +63288457799 to reach their loved ones at home. Calls are free and the line is open 24/7.
The executive also said Filipinos can call the DMW-OWWA 1348 hotline through the TinBo app.
