While eating breakfast with her mother, Mariela (Rita Avila), Abi (Maja Salvador) speaks fondly regarding Billy’s (Kathryn Bernardo) beauty, wealth, and family. Mariela then gives her a stern look, drawing attention to Abi’s jealousy. Rather than responding, Abi describes Billy’s fortunate life once more, questioning whether she really experienced hardships.
In the past, Mariela was deeply affected by the absence of Abi’s father, negatively influencing the way she treated Abi. On a particularly troubled night, she asked Abi to call her older sister (Karylle), but Abi first noticed that there were only three plates on the table. Mariela ignored Abi’s question about her father, bringing up the fact that her older sister received a promotion.
With all her strength, Mariela kept insulting Abi, making her feel worthless just like her dad, who had abandoned their family. During the course of her meltdown, Mariela suddenly broke the plates before going upstairs. Hearing the commotion, Abi’s older sister stepped out of her room and rushed to comfort Abi.
On a different but even more disastrous night, Mariela attempted to end her life, with the lighted candles she left behind burning down the house. At that point, Abi’s older sister returned home and swiftly ran inside to rescue Mariela, whose hair was completely burnt. As Mariela was carried away, Abi frantically came to assist her older sister, who suddenly lost consciousness.
Back to the present moment, Abi gently gazes at Mariela and reassures her about their approaching luck. As if nothing has changed, Mariela harshly replies, taking her wig off. She then returns to her usual behavior by insulting Abi.
Strangely enough, the two unexpectedly laugh together over Mariela’s degrading joke about Abi.
What is Abi and Mariela’s connection to Billy? Let’s all find out “Someone, Someday,” streaming on iWant and airing weeknights at 8:45 pm on ABS-CBN sa ALLTV2, Kapamilya Channel, TV5, A2Z, and Kapamilya Online Live (KOL).
