After paying homage to OPM icons Regine Velasquez-Alcasid and Martin Nievera in recent episodes, “ASAP XP” turned the spotlight on Zsa Zsa Padilla during its July 5 episode, celebrating the “Divine Diva” through a medley of six of her greatest hits from her remarkable career spanning more than four decades.
Looking every bit the “Divine Diva” in a shimmering red gown, Zsa Zsa opened the special number with her stirring rendition of the timeless classic “Through the Years,” originally by American singer-songwriter Kenny Rogers. She was later accompanied onstage by new gen divas Alexa Ilacad, Kai Montinola, Esang de Torres, Carmelle Collado, and Elha Nympha, who matched her elegance in their own ravishing red gowns while showcasing their impressive vocal prowess.
Alexa kicked off the tribute with a heartfelt version of “Sana’y Maghintay Ang Walang Hanggan,” which was used as the opening theme song of the Kapamilya teleserye “Kay Tagal Kang Hinintay” that aired from 2002 to 2003.
Next was Kai, whose astonishing performance of “Kahit Na” earned resounding rounds of applause from the audience.
Esang then took the stage with "Minsan Pa," followed by Carmelle's moving rendition of "Mula sa Puso" and Elha's soaring performance of "Ikaw Lamang."
The special set concluded with Zsa Zsa and the new gen divas singing “Ikaw Lamang” altogether, bringing the musical celebration of her enduring legacy to a memorable close.
