The day of Ryan’s (Yves Flores) inquest unfolds, with Erica (Kaila Estrada) accompanying him as his official legal defense. Consistently, Erica unpacks multiple pieces of evidence of Ryan’s innocence against allegations of his murder of Anton (Jameson Blake).
Prosecutor Donato Relucio proves to be a formidable match for Erica, as he would also strongly overturn Erica’s arguments of Ryan’s good morals, medico-legal justifications, and Edong’s (Jake Cuenca) possible motives for framing Ryan, particularly found in the similar contact numbers to Beth’s (Charlie Dizon) and Locsin’s phones.
Erica doesn’t let his intimidating stance get to her and urges the prosecutor to view the evidence as a part of a pattern that is evidently too neat to be organic. Moments later, Locsin gives the ziplock phone of Art Lacuna, the supposed independent proof for Ryan’s innocence.
It doesn’t live up to expectations, as the footage of Ryan with his shop assistants was corrupted. In quick response to the unfortunate discovery, Erica proceeds to interpret available forensic evidence, including Lieutenant Kian Delos Santos’ delivered report, leading to the primary conclusion that Ryan’s car repair shop was a secondary crime scene, where Anton’s deceased body was delivered.
Remaining unconvinced, the prosecutor counters that there’s a possibility that Ryan might have staged the scene, yet somehow voices that he appreciates Erica’s passionate argument. When Marco (Race Matias) catches up, he finally provides the repaired phone of Edgar Mata.
Upon reviewing the full footage, the timestamp indeed reveals how Ryan was not the murderer of Anton, as Anton had died earlier at a different location, where Edong was hiding. Throughout Erica’s last defense, all look at her in admiration, and the prosecutor finally signs for Ryan’s acquittal.
Ryan then happily arrives at the press conference where Beth, Erica, Alice (Janella Salvador), and Mel (Sue Ramirez) are about to announce the truth of their 14-year lie that incarcerated Edong.
