His extravagant energy and boldness in expressing himself through music and clothing were what made Elton John the icon he is today. He was known for his theatrical and glamorous persona whenever he’s onstage, leaving a lasting impact on everyone watching him.
The showman’s spirit lived on in “Your Face Sounds Familiar” through these three dazzling performances—each one lighting up the stage, stirring deep emotion, and bringing a unique flair to Elton John’s timeless persona.
Noel Comia Jr. (YFSF Kids Season 2, 2018) - “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road”
Elton John's signature colorful look was channeled by Noel, and not just that, he also embodied the singer as he performed “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” complete with the piano, as if we were watching Elton himself.
Coach Nyoy Volante took notice of how Noel captured even the tiny details of how Elton plays the keys, “Talagang feeling mo nagpa-piano talaga siya, I like that.” He remarked that Noel was able to do the timbre and shape of Elton John's singing.
Highlighting how flamboyant the singer is, Judge Sharon Cuneta mentioned that doing instruments while singing at the same time is difficult, and Noel did a pretty good job at it. For Judge Ogie Alcasid, it was a commendable effort by Noel.
Noel placed 6th at the end of the season.
Enzo Almario of iDolls (YFSF Season 3, 2021) - “That's What Friends Are For” ft. Matty Juniosa and Lucas Garcia
Enzo Almario of iDolls transformed into Elton John for a night as he performed “That's What Friends Are For” alongside Matty Juniosa and Lucas Garcia, who became Stevie Wonder and Dionne Warwick, respectively. It was a beautiful rendition that truly resonated with the viewers.
“You didn't disappoint. In fact, lalo n’yo pa akong pinabilib,” Judge Sharon Cuneta remarked, applauding the iDolls. Judge Ogie Alcasid was equally impressed, “Sipradong siprado, ‘yung tatlong iconic artists na ’yon. Individually, it was excellent.”
Judge Gary Valenciano shared the same thoughts, “You all blended in voice and in attitude, which for me showed that there's no other group that can do this song better than the iDolls.” He added that it was the trio’s best number yet.
iDolls placed 4th at the end of the season.
Jason Dy (YFSF Season 4, 2026) - “Your Song”
Jason impersonated superstar Elton John as he delivered the hit “Your Song.” With live vocals, Jason captivated the audience, leaving everyone stunned by his voice just like of Elton himself. While singing, it was also quite evident that he was taking his performance to heart.
Guest Judge Erik Santos, a close friend of Jason, shared that he truly enjoyed the number. He noted that both Jason and Elton were fashionable, expressing themselves through clothing. “Overall, I think that was a very good performance,” he said.
Judge Ogie Alcasid echoed Erik’s sentiment, adding that Jason was a risk-taker when it came to dressing up. He remarked, “I just wanna say that I’m proud of you. Looking at you now, masasabi ko, when this is all said and done, isa ka dun sa pinakamagagaling dito.”
Agreeing with the other judges was Sharon Cuneta, “Anything na binibigay sa’yo, you did perfectly. ‘Yung ini-invest mo ng oras, energy, tsaka talagang inaaral mo, nakakahanga ‘yun talaga.” She described Jason’s number as a wonderful performance.
Beyond Elton John’s music and shimmering costumes lies a powerful message of embracing life fully—one that reflects the singer himself, who has become an inspiration to many through his artistry.
