The former housemates of “Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition” prove that their star power never falters as they confidently take on the mystery-romance narrative of “The Secrets of Hotel 88.” To tease more of the series’ spine-chilling plot and intriguing characters, Kira Balinger and Xyriel Manabat lend their high energy and sisterly connection to the February 17 episode of Kapamilya Chat.
From sharing the fans’ level of anticipation and describing “The Secrets of Hotel 88” as their dream project to spilling little details that would certainly spark viewers’ curiosity, Kira and Xyriel also put their game faces on for the amusing “Opportunity Grabber” challenge, where they competed to be the first to grab the host’s selected item and strike a click-worthy pose with it.
Immediately in the first round, the actresses both caught the chosen item—a spoon. They then took turns using it as a modeling prop, even going back-to-back and leaning their heads toward each other, reminiscent of the iconic “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” poster.
Maintaining their synchronization for the second round, they rushed to hold the tabo, or water dipper, laughing at how alike they were. In the same moment, it was comically revealed that they had quickly spotted the item’s position by cleverly using the reflection on the show’s logo. During the photoshoot-like moment, the two playfully poured imaginary water on each other.
By the third round, giggles took over the game again. When it was time to pick up the maracas, Kira narrowly beat Xyriel—sparking some light-hearted teasing from her co-star about their arm spans. Kira’s poses with the maracas were pure sweetness, while Xyriel added a creative twist, pretending the maraca was a golf club and an umbrella.Nearing the final match, the fourth challenge urged the two to find the ukulele, which crowned Kira as the victor, charmingly reviving the comic relief of the third round. This time, Kira actually tried to strum the strings, while Xyriel surprised everyone with her animated singing. Soon after, the duo channelled their inner rockstars and runway models with the instrument.
In the final round, the host combined the spoon and dipper, leaving the pair momentarily confused and fumbling. They carried on, humorously pretending to drink soup from the props during the mini photoshoot session.
