After the heart-fluttering romance “film” of Heath Jornales and Caprice Cayetano, the latest guest of “PBB Hotel,” Kapuso star and seasoned actress Gladys Reyes, then requests not just one, but two heavy drama “movies” from the housemates.
The first one, titled “Three Sisters and a Daddy,” features Krystal Mejes, Ashley Sarmiento, and Princess Aliyah in the titular roles. It is followed by what seems to be the Gen Z edition of the classic soap opera “Mara Clara,” which Gladys used to top-bill in the ‘90s alongside “Teleserye Queen” Judy Ann Santos. She personally picks Krystal and Caprice to star in it, with the former as the wicked kontrabida and the latter as the fierce bida.
Since it’s drama, the two young actresses make sure to have an exchange of slaps, which totally shocks Gladys. She then asks Princess to join them as Krystal’s sister, as well as Ashley as Caprice’s sister. Gladys herself then enters the scene, playing as the spiteful mom of Krystal and Princess.
Of course, she shows them why she’s called “primera kontrabida” not only through her compelling performance but also through her famous slap—which Caprice and Ashley are both honored to experience. In her conversation with Kuya, the “Demure Daughter ng Quezon City,” who already had the opportunity to work with Gladys in an afternoon drama, related, “Grabe, na-miss ko po ‘yong sampal ni Ms Gladys, Kuya! Na-miss ko po talaga kaya parang imbes po na maiyak ako, natuwa po ako deep inside, Kuya.”
As the story progresses, Joaquin Arce and Lella Ford then take part in the skit as the parents of Caprice and Ashley. The performance concludes with the cast embracing each other and praising one another for a job well done. Gladys also immediately hugs both Caprice and Ashley after slapping them during their characters’ confrontation scenes.
Later, she shared with Big Brother how she approached the housemates’ acting challenges. She explained that her slaps on Ashley and Caprice were well-calculated and controlled, so they weren’t too strong. She was also impressed by their professionalism, noting how they stayed fully in character and knew exactly what to do just by reading each other’s cues.
