Liam (Donny Pangilinan) realizes Magnus’ (Raymond Bagatsing) sacrifices for their family during the siege in the January 22 episode of “Roja.” As Magnus falls into critical condition after an encounter with Lucas (Marc Abaya), Greta (Lorna Tolentino) and Liam grow worried about him. “Kaya mo ’yan, Magnus. Kaya mo,” Greta cries as she looks at him.
As Magnus receives aid from the authorities, Liam is still troubled by what Jericho (Floyd Tena) told Greta beforehand, that she needed to explain something to Liam, until Jericho was shot. Later, when they board the speedboat upon being rescued, Liam asks Greta what Jericho meant. “Ano ’yong kailangan mong ipaliwanag?” he asks, but Greta pretends she does not know.
Liam asks Greta further about how she got to know Jericho. “No’ng na-destino siya sa Alicante, kinailangan ko siyang lapitan dahil nagkaproblema tayo sa security. Hindi ko naman alam na kasamahan niya pala si Emil (Joel Torre),” she shares. Even the fact that Emil is Ayen’s (Yassi Pressman) father is something she did not know either.
“No’ng nalaman ko ’yon, Ma, nakaramdam ulit ako ng galit kay Papa. Bumalik lahat, Ma,” Liam opens up to Greta. He explains how Emil’s revelation brought back memories of Magnus’ betrayal of their family. “Gusto ko siyang sisihin. Kasi gumaganti sila, eh---sa kanya, sa ating lahat. ’Yong tatay ni Ayen. Iniisip ko talaga lahat ’to kasalanan ni Papa,” Liam rants.
However, despite the pain, Liam realizes all the sacrifices Magnus made for them throughout the siege. “How can I blame a man who’s willing to risk his entire life para lang sa pamilya niya?” he says.
When they finally return to Alicante, Greta is bombarded with questions from the media about what happened during the siege, with some even asking if there was an inside job. The question makes Liam realize that an inside job is possible, but Greta simply shrugs him off.
