The year kicks off with non-stop excitement on “ASAP,” where performances are always levelled up to keep the hype alive. Bringing a homier vibe and a surge of Pinoy pride, the January 18 episode featured Kapamilya stars and special guests performing back-to-back OPM hits spanning P-Pop, hip-hop, Visayan, and band classics—beats and rhythms that’ll surely make your ears crave more.
The show opened with Asia’s Pop Heartthrob Darren Espanto in a shining gold blazer, energetically introducing OPM Chief Ogie Alcasid, who soon got swept up in the groove with Concert King Martin Nievera and Pop Ballad Royalty Erik Santos as they performed BGYO’s addictive hit, “All These Ladies.”
At just the right moment, BGYO turned up the heat next with their fresh release “Aloe Vera,” while the confident, rich vocals of Kai Montinola and Alexa Ilacad, dressed in classy suits, added even more charm to the performance.
More pop groups take the stage, as Yeng Constantino and Jona set the scene in yellow hues for rising P-pop group 1621, who bring their light and fun vibes with “Bababa.” Then, AC Bonifacio shifts the energy, joining 1621 for their dance hit “Manifest Mo Na Yan.”
Girl group fever takes over the stage as DNA captivates with their catchy debut single “Don’t Ask Me Why.” Adding even more star power is New Gen Superstar Belle Mariano, who shines with her impressive vocals.
Of course, P-pop wouldn’t be complete without the nation’s girl group BINI, represented by Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez-Alcasid and Divine Diva Zsa Zsa Padilla, who dazzled in iconic pink attire as they performed BINI’s hit song “Pantropiko.”
Celebrating the multilingual culture of the Philippines, the second part of the show featured classic Visayan hits, headlined by Sofronio Vasquez, Vina Morales, and Jed Madela, who delivered a powerful rendition of Dulce’s “Matud Nila.”
Illuminating the stage with their sunny aura, Kai and Kyle Echarri partner up for the joyful Visayan love song “Balay Ni Mayang,” by Kyle Wong and Martina San Diego, ending their charming cameo with an adorable sigh.
Carrying on the soulful momentum, TNT Duet Champions and “Your Face Sounds Familiar” frontrunners JM Dela Cerna and Marielle Montellano once again impress with their flawless vocals and addictive harmony in Kurt Fick’s “HAHAHasula.”
Finally, bringing the Visayan records to a grand close, Regine, Dulce, and Sheryn Regis interpret Pilita Corales’ “Usahay,” blending its nostalgic melody with a beautifully poignant touch.
The segment wrapped up with Aljur Abrenica, who recently trended on social media for his heartfelt song covers. Finally on stage for his solo performance, he flawlessly delivered the emotional intensity of Rivermaya’s “Himala,” accompanied by the Six Part Invention.
Nostalgia and unforgettable beats filled the third part of the show, as Elha Nympha, JM Yosures, and Darren shone in the spotlight performing Gloc-9 and Regine Velasquez-Alcasid’s “Takip Silim.”
Jane De Leon kept the stage cool and stylish, dancing to Jon D Jon’s trendy “Eba’t Adan.” She was immediately followed by Jona, Jason Dy, and Kyle Echarri, who collaborated on Gloc-9’s socially impactful hit “Sirena.”
The OPM hip-hop segment closed with “PBB” alumni Emilio Daez, Brent Manalo, and JM Ibarra, showcasing the vibrant flip-top setup as they danced to Andrew E’s “Shoot-Shoot.”
The fourth part began with a relaxing moment as hitmaker Moira Dela Torre and Kyle performed a duet of Justin Bieber’s “Daisies.” Standing on their own podiums, they set the stage for the array of trendy performances that followed.
A strong entrance unfolded as the acclaimed Filipino hip-hop dance crew Legit Status energized the stage, inviting Kapamilya heartthrob and leading man Gerald Anderson to join their routine, dancing to Hev Abi’s “Walang Alam.” Mid-performance, Gerald playfully removed his jacket, delighting the audience.
For a creative remix of “Pougie” and “Sayaw Mga Choy,” AC, Anji Salvacion, and Gela Atayde lit up the stage with lively performances and beaming smiles. After them, Binsoy Namoca, Ken San Jose, Michelle Garcia, Jeremy G, and Jameson Blake took over with a street-dance rendition of “Answer the G,” moving in perfect sync.
Capturing the segment’s trendy flair, Elias TV took the stage with his “Sabak Ka Diri” and soon twinned with Gerald Anderson, both in black tank tops, showing off their moves alongside the other performers.
Following Elias TV and Gerald Anderson’s high-energy performance, new-gen music artist Maymay Entrata commanded the spotlight with her latest single, “Masunog Man.” Striking an idol-worthy pose in a fur jacket, smoky eyes, and lace-accented attire, she radiated charisma and captivated the audience with every move.
The fifth and final part of the show was the perfect moment for unforgettable band hits to take the limelight once more, with Ogie Alcasid, Sofronio Vasquez, and Martin Nievera teamed up for the beloved 6cyclemind classic, “Prinsesa.”
Nostalgia resurfaced with “Kahit Ayaw Mo Na” by This Band, performed with the youthful charms of the multi-talented ladies Alexa Ilacad, Kai Montinola, and Belle Mariano.
Soaring vocals then filled the stage during Mayonnaise’s “Tayo Na Lang Dalawa,” masterfully delivered by Yeng Constantino, Erik Santos, and Marko Rudio. Undoubtedly, audience excitement reached its peak with Darren and Jason’s rendition of Rivermaya’s “Kisapmata.”
The episode closed with a grand finale as Regine Velasquez, Jona Viray, and Elha Nympha led all the artists in a powerful performance of Teeth’s “Laklak.”
