After confessing his romantic feelings for her, P/Lt. Hector Victorino (Aljur Abrenica) seemed to be keen in proving to Patrolwoman Paula “Ponggay” Garcia (Maris Racal) that he was seriously interested in her and was not just fooling around.
During the Quiapo Police’s bloody battle with the groups of Tanggol (Coco Martin) and Angkong Lucio (Ronnie Lazaro) at the hospital while they were guarding Ramon (Christopher de Leon)—who was then still unconscious—Hector saw that Ponggay was in the midst of the raging crossfire.
And being the valiant police officer and leader that he was, not to mention being lovestruck towards Ponggay, he allowed himself to be hit by bullets as he shielded her from getting shot.
As Ponggay expressed her worry over the gunshot wound that he had sustained because of her, Hector assured her that he was fine and that he was just barely hit.
