After initially choosing to double-cross them by foiling their business transactions related to illegal drugs and being almost killed by Ramon (Christopher de Leon), Tanggol (Coco Martin) approached him and Don Julio (Tommy Abuel) to ask for their forgiveness.
He explained that it wasn’t really his intention to betray or hurt them, and he was only compelled to do that since he doesn’t want the lives of Manileños, whom he was supposed to save if elected as mayor, to be ruined because of the illegal drugs they’re selling.
On the other hand, Ramon told him that he also didn’t want to inflict harm on him, but he was so hurt by the betrayal that he did to them. Don Julio chimed in that Tanggol had only proven that other people’s welfare was more important to him than to his family.
Moreover, Ramon pointed out to Tanggol that it was his principle that almost ruined their family, then went on to ask him if he feels embarrassed to be part of a Montenegro. Tanggol replied that he doesn’t feel that way since he considers it the happiest moment of his life when Ramon acknowledged him as his son.
Tanggol once again apologized that he could never really tolerate their illegal drug trade, yet he asked for a second chance for him to be able to make it up to them. Thus, Ramon challenged him to prove it by fighting for their family in the anticipated war against the Guerreros.
