Although she already had a solid fanbase even before joining "Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition," becoming a housemate, and eventually a Big Winner alongside her duo Brent Manalo, only cemented Mika Salamanca’s status as a true "main character" in the online world. Just ask anyone who’s seen her childhood DIY music videos that recently resurfaced and went viral. From the dramatic scenes and her heartfelt singing, aren't we all entertained?
That’s Mika in a nutshell. She’s a whole mix of quirky, kikay, and unapologetically real. She has that natural charm that keeps people watching. So now that it's her turn to take on "10 Random Questions," just like her fellow “PBB Collab” housemates did, we just know we're in for a treat.
When asked about her best physical feature, Mika confidently flaunted her beautiful face, "Sabihin na natin na nadala niya ako sa maraming magagandang bagay sa mundo." Thanks to this little game, we learned that she's also a certified animal lover, with three cats and one dog she absolutely adores.
If given the chance to reconnect with someone, Mika said she’d like to catch up with her grade school classmates. “Gusto kong malaman kung kumusta sila."
In friendships, honesty is what matters most to her. She appreciates friends who call her out when needed. If she’s doing something wrong, she wants to hear it, and she’s the same way with her friends.
Asked to name the funniest person she knows, Mika gave the title to her best friend, content creator Benedict Cua.
And without even trying, Mika's selflessness showed once again when asked what three things she’d add to her bucket list. She mused, “Mabigay ko lahat ng gusto ng buong pamilya ko. No exemption, buong pamilya talaga.” Also on her list is to travel the world. But at the very top was joining “PBB,” which she did. And not only did she become a housemate, she emerged as Big Winner. Manifested and delivered.
One of her comfort movies is "Evil Dead," which she watches around three times a year. And while that sounds more scream than sob, it actually once made her cry, specifically during a time she was missing her ‘Kuya’ and the sacrifices of the brother character in the movie hit her right in the feels.
Mika then shared that her aunt, Liza, is one of her early influences. "Na-mold 'yung personality ko because of her, like, sa mga tinuturo niya, sa lifetsyle niya, sa way ng pagsasalita niya, sa way na tinuturo niya sa amin nu'ng bata kami."
If you’ve ever spotted her wearing a gold ring, that’s no random accessory—it’s actually one of her most prized possessions, one of the first luxury items she bought for herself when she was younger. “I keep it as a reminder na you can achieve more in life if you work hard and if you dream something bigger,” she shared.
And finally, she revealed that writing and singing are her favorite ways to unwind, but sometimes, just sitting quietly with her thoughts helps her reset. And of course, nothing beats a good soak in the bathtub to make her relax.
