Roderick Paulate has brought back his timeless brand of comedy on the big screen via the riotous dramedy "Mudrasta." But the fun didn't stop at the cinemas as Roderick, along with co-stars Carmi Martin, Sunshine Teodoro, Awra Briguela, and Raven Molina, carried the good vibes from the big screen to the "Rainbow Rumble" game floor.
ABS-CBN Studios caught up with the cast right after the match. The group shared their experiences from the game, and even those who didn’t make it to the jackpot round said they still enjoyed the friendly face-off. Carmi didn’t mind losing as she was really just there to support Roderick and their movie, though she really had fun playing. Awra took the results in stride, saying he was glad to score a few points before losing, “Hindi talaga siya para sa akin.”
Sunshine still had reason to smile despite her early exit, as she managed to snag the lucky tile that doubled her winnings on the spot. “At least hindi ako empty-handed,” she mused. Meanwhile, Raven wished luck had been on his side, but was still glad to pocket 2,000 pesos from the “Rally to the Top” round.
Asked which part of the game gave them the hardest time, Carmi pointed to the ‘Gen Z’ questions that Awra easily nailed. Awra, though, had his own weak spot as he admitted he was thrown off by history items, something Raven also agreed with. Sunshine felt the pressure during the duel rounds where she had to battle another player for a tiebreaker question after landing on the same color tile. Add to that, she was nearly at the finish line, but one “atras” move from her opponent sent her racing back.
Carmi joked that her foolproof preparation tip would be as simple as “kumain ka muna ng kanin at matulog nang maigi para maka-answer nang quick.” But as the rest of the cast agreed, the secret to acing the game was staying calm and collected. “Dapat relaxed,” Roderick pointed out. “Kasi minsan, ‘pag na-te-tense ka sa game, maski alam mo na ‘yung sagot, parang nanghihina ka, ang bagal mo.”
Roderick believes it was his laid-back attitude that helped him breeze through the rounds and snag 77,000 pesos in winnings. He had no preparations whatsoever, since the trivia questions were entirely spontaneous, but it was exactly that unpredictability that made the experience more exciting. He also shared that one reason he agreed to join was because Luis Manzano is the host, and thought of it as a good way to plug "Mudrasta" while having fun with his castmates.
“Overall, one hundred percent impact,” Roderick quipped, summing up the team's "Rainbow Rumble" experience.
