Fyang Smith and JM Ibarra have been earning praise for stepping into their first-ever lead roles in “Ghosting,” where their chemistry shines as much as their individual performances. But fans are just as eager to know how the two are when the cameras aren’t rolling.
Thanks to the series’ director Theodore “Ted” Boborol and his behind-the-scenes vlog, we get a front-row seat to their candid moments on set, which was buzzing with lighthearted banter and plenty of good vibes.
The vlog kicks off with the cast and crew taking on their little ritual before the actual grind. They gathered for a prayer to mark the start of a taping day. And soon after, the mood turned fun and playful with the cast members' 'kulitan' between takes. Fyang grabbed a microphone as if she were headlining a concert and then gave Vivoree a quick tutorial of her viral “Kilometro” dance steps.
When the schedule got a bit hectic, little surprises like the ice cream treat from producer EJ Mallari helped recharge everyone's energy.
Gello Marquez and Vivoree then took over the vlog, gushing about how kilig they are over the JMFyang tandem, with Vivoree admitting she was pleasantly surprised with how they're like on- and off-cam since it's her first time working with them as she noted the pair's determination as rookie actors.
Pretending they were talk show hosts, Gello and Vivoree then raided JM and Fyang’s tent to check up on the two. This sparked the idea of a phone raid! Fyang offered JM's phone for the challenge and she herself revealed everything from apps to pictures. Be sure to check out that pocket-sized photo tucked in JM’s phone case, which is of course, a snapshot of him and Fyang. Gello quipped that JM’s phone basically doubles as Fyang’s gallery since it's flooded with her pics.
The fun didn't end there as they also chatted with Chastity Dizon, the child actress who plays Fyang's young version in the series. If she looks familiar, that's because Chastity was the same cutie who played young Belle Mariano in "Can’t Buy Me Love," where Gello and Vivoree also starred. The group talked about Chastity’s birthday to the meaning behind her name and some princess shows. And because it’s Fyang leading the conversation, of course, she had to flex her powerhouse vocals and impress the child with her version of “Kilometro.”
The banter continued when they threw in adorable questions for the young girl, like asking her to choose between JM and Fyang. If you were in her shoes, Kapamilya, how would you have answered?
