One thing fans often miss about "Pinoy Big Brother" is watching housemates bring out their competitive side in different games and tasks, all while sharing plenty of good vibes together. That’s why solid “PBB” supporters were thrilled when they got to see that same energy as the third batch of "Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition" ex-housemates Brent Manalo, River Joseph, Esnyr Ranollo, Vince Maristela, and Will Ashley had a blast taking on a new 'task’—playing in the August 17 episode of "Rainbow Rumble.”
While Brent didn’t walk away with the jackpot prize after reaching the “Rainbow Reveal” round, the entire batch of ex-housemates agreed that the real reward was the thrill of playing together again and making yet another memory outside Bahay Ni Kuya.
It felt like a near miss for Esnyr since he managed to move ahead during "Rally to the Top," only to fall short before the final stretch against Brent. Rather than being too hard on himself, he shrugged it off as “God’s will” and said Brent truly deserved to be where he ended up. Esnyr pointed out that the real 'opponent' was the time pressure that could lead to a mental block. “So hindi mo talaga ma-judge ‘yung mga naglalaro do’n kasi iba talaga ‘pag may time pressure,” he explained that panic would cloud his thoughts with only a few seconds to answer.
River also came close to taking that top spot but got pushed back twice by Brent and Vince's "Atras Power," which was a little frustrating at first, though he just laughed it off because what mattered more was the experience of playing with his "PBB Collab" friends. River didn’t bother reviewing beforehand since the questions were mostly basic knowledge anyway, yet just like Esnyr, he felt rattled whenever the countdown would start after swiping the tile as players only had a few seconds to answer.
Will, on the other hand, confessed that his competitive streak didn’t do him much good either as he struggled to keep up with swiping on the color tiles, where he got left behind.
In the end, none of them really minded going home without the one-million-peso jackpot prize because what they took with them was the fun, unforgettable experience and a few lessons along the way. Esnyr thought it was an enjoyable way to refresh his trivia knowledge, while River took the game as a reminder to just be present in the moment and not overthink things, and then Will saw it as just a friendly competition where, even if everyone wanted to win, the best part was playing it out with his buddies.
