Behind-the-scenes look at Marites-Guerrero confrontation in “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo,” Jake Cuenca teases bigger war ahead

With the past finally catching up and long-buried truths starting to unravel, the recent events in "FPJ's Batang Quiapo" have been nothing short of earth-shattering, as Marites (Cherry Pie Picache), hoping to put an end to the bloodshed between the Guerrero and Montenegro clans, took the courage to face her biological father, Don Gustavo Guerrero (Dante Rivero). 

Driven by grief over her son David’s (McCoy de Leon) death and desperation to stop the cycle of violence, Marites bravely walked into the Guerrero mansion, revealing that she is the daughter of Matilde Asuncion (Charo Santos), the woman Don Gustavo had assaulted and got pregnant many years ago. While Don Gustavo showed a glimpse of guilt and longing, the rest of the Guerreros seethed with disgust and disbelief.  

Talk about a star-studded confrontation! Since it involved industry heavyweights, including Jake Cuenca, Albert Martinez, Angel Aquino, and Celia Rodriguez, apart from Cherry Pie and Dante, it makes us curious how the whole team prepared for a scene this emotionally loaded. And we're lucky enough to be given a glimpse, thanks to this behind-the-scenes reel from CCM Film Productions.  

The clip shows that even veterans need intense preparation for a scene of this magnitude, with the cast seen huddling together, throwing lines before take. And as you go through it, there’s an almost haunting feel to watching everything unfold in its raw form, making the moment feel even more real and heavy. 

Jake Cuenca, who plays Miguelito, one of the most dangerous forces within the Guerrero clan, also hints that the narrative is about to get even more explosive from here. "Sa nakikita ko, mas magiging interesting ’yong istorya. ’Yong conflict dito na manggagaling, labanan sa yaman, labanan sa pagmamay-ari, labanan sa puwesto,” he shares. 

And as an actor, a complex dynamic like the deepening of the Guerrero–Montenegro rivalry is something he’s looking forward to diving into, “Nakaka-excite artehin.” And with tensions rising, the next clash between Miguelito and Tanggol (Coco Martin) is shaping up to be a scorcher.
