The race to the Big Night just got more intense in the July 3 episode of "Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition," as the Big Four duos – CharEs (Charlie Fleming and Esnyr), RaWi (Ralph de Leon and Will Ashley), AzVer (AZ Martinez and River Joseph), and BreKa (Brent Manalo and Mika Salamanca)– faced the first part of the high-stakes “One Million Votes Challenge.”
The season's final task, called the “One Million Votes Challenge,” gives the Big Four duos a chance to earn extra votes ahead of the Big Night. The additional votes they can secure will depend on their ranking in each phase of the challenge, but they’ll only receive these votes if they successfully complete each task. In the first part, a total of 400,000 votes are up for grabs, while the second round will put 600,000 votes at stake.
For the first stage, each duo had to walk across a giant seesaw. Starting from their designated point, they needed to cross to the other end and place a ball, one by one, into a container called the Big Brother’s Eye attached to the end of the seesaw. They had to do this alternately, but could only switch turn if the previous player successfully placed their ball. When switching, the partner had to be completely off the seesaw, with no part of their body touching or resting on it.
Each pair had ten balls to transfer, marked with either a “POSITIVE” or “NEGATIVE” sign, corresponding to the type of comment they chose to hear from the outside world. Before learning the full mechanics, the duos had already chosen their combination of positive and negative comments. AzVer settled with 7 positive and 3 negative comments; RaWi chose 5 positive and 5 negative; BreKa picked 8 positive and 2 negative; CharEs went for 8 positive and 2 negative.
To complete the challenge, the duo must place all ten balls in the Big Brother’s Eye and have both members return safely to their starting areas. The additional votes at stake for this round are 200,000 votes for the 1st placer, 100,000 votes for the 2nd placer, 60,000 votes for the 3rrd placer, and 40,000 votes for the 4th placer.
In the end, all four duos succeeded in completing the first phase of the “One Million Vote Challenge.” But beyond the competition itself, it was rewarding to see the housemates cheer each other on and celebrate every win together.
