In the more than two years that we’ve been watching “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo,” we’ve surely witnessed a lot of changes from its ever-developing narrative to its ever-evolving cast lineup. But there are still things that have not changed ever since, and among them is the consistently hostile relationship between Rigor and Tanggol, the lead characters impeccably portrayed by seasoned actors John Estrada and Coco Martin.

As we all know, Rigor has detested Tanggol even before he was born since the latter was the offspring of his wife, Marites (Cherry Picache) with Ramon Montenegro (Christopher de Leon), the notorious bigtime criminal in the City of Manila who sexually assaulted her. Thus, even though he had given his surname to him, Rigor had never found it in his heart to love Tanggol as if he is own flesh and blood. Tanggol may have chosen to understand and show respect to Rigor before since he is his father, but that instantly changed when he finally learned the truth behind his identity.

And in this episode of Kapamilya Toplist, let us look back on the 10 scenes that showed the intense altercations between Rigor and Tanggol that indeed brought us to the edge of our seats and made our blood boil.

Let us begin with that scene wherein Tanggol finally mustered the courage to confront Rigor for being so harsh and uncaring towards him ever since he was a kid, as well as always pinning the blame for the unfortunate things that happened to their family to him and the other members of their household.

Tanggol was so mad at Rigor that he attempted to kill him by riddling bullets at him while he was speeding his car and the latter was walking out of the police station. It was followed by their riveting shootouts and bloody fisticuffs that occurred in their neighborhood in Quiapo and were witnessed by their entire community. It didn’t only happen once but twice, as Rigor attempted to retaliate for what Tanggol had done to him and his beloved son, David (McCoy de Leon).

The two once again came face-to-face when Tanggol got arrested after the Guerreros filed charges against him for physically assaulting their scion and mayoralty candidate Miguelito (Jake Cuenca). Rigor insulted Tanggol for trying his luck on being the next mayor of Manila City, telling him, “Magma-mayor ka? Wala ka namang alam. Wala kang ibang alam kundi kasamaan. Perwisyo’s gulo lang ang dadalhin mo sa Maynila. Idadamay mo pa sila sa pagkasalot mo?”

A violent skirmish then ensued between them when Rigor caught Tanggol at their house as he and Marites attempted to visit the wake of David. What was supposed to be a solemn and peaceful ceremony turned out to be chaos as they relentlessly exchanged blows and Tanggol’s friends helped him to beat up Rigor.

Their faceoff because of David didn’t end there, as Tanggol and his group were able to get ahold of David’s remains to give him a proper burial after Rigor refused to receive any help from them. It can be recalled that Rigor rejected the decent casket that Tanggol had provided for his younger brother, who was killed by his political rival Miguelito, as well as the entombment that Tanggol had prepared for David.

With the help of his group, Tanggol was able to take David’s body from Rigor, which resulted in an intense chase and shootout between them and the police. In the end, Tanggol succeeded in putting David’s remains not just inside a casket but also in giving him his final respects.

Tanggol and Rigor are still both alive and livid at each other, so we’re definitely going to expect more scorching tapatan between them. So, you better brace yourselves for the upcoming episodes of “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo,”weeknights at 8 PM, on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live (KOL), A2Z, and TV5.
