She's known as the “Miss Sunuring Daughter ng Cebu." And in her “Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition" stint, we saw that side of her through her closeness with her mom, who even surprised her in Bahay Ni Kuya after she and her final duo, River Joseph, made it to the Big Four. We saw it, too, in the stories she told about her late dad, and in the acts of kindness influenced by memories of him that she's been keeping close to heart.
In fact, when you ask her what her favorite song is, she’d say “Uhaw” by Dilaw, and it comes with a deep story. "Before my dad passed away, may pinost siya sa Facebook na pang-birthday greeting niya sa akin and then 'Uhaw' 'yung song. Every time kasama ko siya lagi niyang pine-play 'yung 'Uhaw' so sobrang laki ng meaning nito sa akin," shared AZ, adding that after her dad's passing, she noticed how the song would randomly play in different places, making her feel like her dad is still right there with her.
That’s just one of the “10 Random Questions” AZ faced before she officially entered the Big Brother house. Catch more of her answers and get to know her better below.
One of her favorite ways to relax is scrolling through TikTok. It’s her go-to habit before bed, and probably the reason why she’s more of a night owl than a morning person. "Nagigising na ako 12 noon or sometimes even 3 p.m.," she confessed.
When it comes to friendships, what AZ values most is being true, "Mas makaka-vibe kita kapag authentic ka. Ayoko talaga 'yung plastikan. Kasi, ako, as a person sobrang prangka ako."
AZ is the kind of moviegoer who tries not to get caught crying in the cinema—that’s how it was when she watched “Hello, Love, Goodbye” years ago. But when she saw the sequel “Hello, Love, Again,” that all went out the window as she just let herself cry in front of her fellow Sparkle artists. Filed under: movies that unexpectedly made AZ cry.
When asked what food she could eat every day without getting tired of it, she mentioned two—first, sinigang, because she calls herself a “sinigang lover,” but it has to be extra sour and a little spicy. The second is steak, which doesn't make her feel too heavy.
Still on food, AZ shared that her all-time favorite dessert is ice cream.
Her dream celebrity BFF is none other than Vice Ganda. "Lagi ko siyang pinapanood growing up. I love watching Ms. Vice. Gusto ko talaga siyang ma-meet," she said in the video. Back when she'd go to ABS-CBN studios for her “PBB” VTRs, she would secretly hope to catch a glimpse of Vice Ganda. And even if that didn’t happen then, something even better did later on as she finally got to interact with the "It's Showtime" host in person when Vice visited the Final 5 Duos inside Bahay Ni Kuya. So that explains the loud fangirl scream AZ let out the moment she saw the Unkabogable Superstar.
Her love languages are quality time and physical touch. She enjoys spending time with her loved ones, and she’s big on hugs and holding hands.
If this short Q&A says anything, it’s that AZ is definitely someone worth knowing. Who else is excited to see what she’ll be up to now that she’s back in the outside world?
